The wait is over. Piazza Pelino, a new gelateria and Italian sandwich shop, focusing on artisan focaccia bread, authentic gelato, and even imported Italian goods, is finally opening.

And it’s opening tomorrow.

According to their Instagram, Piazza Pelino, located at 772 N. High St., opens their doors Wednesday, November 29th, and it will be chocked full of authentic Italian items that the owners have thoughtfully sourced from their trips to Italy.

They’ll be serving incredible sandwiches and Nutella gelato with hazelnuts sourced from Piemonte, Italy, but they’ll also offer ceramics straight from Positano, and bottles of fresh Italian olive oil from the Parma region.

As its name suggests, the new Short North restaurant is being created by the owners of Pelino’s Pasta, and will serve as its sister restaurant. Pelino’s Pasta, which is located at 245 King Ave. in Dennison Place, was opened in 2021 by Christina Pelino and Vinny Pelino. It focuses on serving high-end, authentic pastas made entirely from scratch using imported Italian ingredients.
