You know the Chicago dog, and it’s likely anyone with a TikTok account has seen a viral video featuring the trendy Korean corn dog, but a lesser-known hot dog variety that has its roots in the Buckeye State recently made a list of the world’s top-10 hot dogs styles.

According to TasteAtlas, a website dedicated to international food news and other culinary content, the Ohio-born Polish Boy made the website’s list of the world’s 10 most popular hot dog styles.

The Polish Boy, which comes from Cleveland, took the list’s 10th spot.

“Polish boy is the signature sandwich of Cleveland, Ohio, consisting of a kielbasa sausage, coleslaw, fries, and barbecue sauce in a bun. It is believed that Polish boy was most likely invented by a restaurant owner named Virgil Whitmore in the 1940s, who combined a smoked beef sausage with other available ingredients that he had in the restaurant,” the FoodAtlas story reads.

The chorizo-based choripan from Argentina claimed the top spot, with the Chicago-style hot dog coming in second.

While the Polish Boy is from Cleveland, Columbus offers its own fair share of spots to grab one, including the Pit BBQ Grille, Hubert’s Polish Kitchen, Dirty Frank’s Hot Dog Palace and more.
