Ohio Restaurant Association named 44 year old pizzeria as the best restaurant in central Ohio

In 1966, a Groveport grocery store realized they had something special going on when they tried their hand at making some pizzas. Then, in the 1979, the owners, Chuck and Janet Ward, decided to transition to a pizza business. Now, in 2023, they’re a full Italian restaurant, and considered the best in Central Ohio, according to The Ohio Restaurant Association.

We’re sending a huge congratulations to Little Italy Ristorante, a cozy, family-owned restaurant in the heart of Groveport, located at 480 Main St., for this huge achievement and award. CEO Avery Ward shared on social media that he’s, “…absolutely overjoyed that we’ve officially been named the ‘Best Restaurant in Central Ohio’ by the Ohio Restaurant Association!”

Ward goes on to thank his amazing team and partner, emphasizing their dedication, talent, and hard work, and of course, Little Italy Ristorante’s loyal customers. “To our beloved customers, this award belongs to you, too. Your unwavering support and love are what drives us to excel every day. Thank you for being part of our journey,” he said.

Little Italy Ristorante specializes in crispy, Columbus-style pizza, as well as more traditional Italian cuisine, like bruschettas, a variety of pastas, cheesy, decadent appetizers, and subs. They moved to this location last year after running their shop at 619 Main St. for decades.

Each year, the Ohio Restaurant Association (ORA) hosts their annual Industry Awards Celebration, highlighting leaders, professionals, and restaurants that display excellence, so this is a huge achievement.

“I’m happy to share — we’re just getting started,” emphasized Ward.
