Popular 73 year old local ice cream shop opening Grandview location
Grandview is about to get a whole lot sweeter in 2024!
Johnson’s Real Ice Cream, first established in 1950 in Bexley, Ohio, is expanding to Grandview at 1325 Grandview Ave, right across from the Grandview Cafe.
This fourth-generation local business said that thanks to their booming wholesale division, and of course the popularity of their Bexley scoop shop, they’ve been able to open locations in Dublin and New Albany too, and now, they’re ecstatic about another one in Grandview.

Their new location will feature the same array of flavors that you can find at their other scoop shops, like Butter Pecan, Mint Chip, and of course, Columbus Crunch. They’re also planning on some Grandview-only exclusives, plus ice cream cakes, ice cream sandwiches, sorbets, milkshakes, and dairy-free options.
Construction will begin in November, with a projected opening date in early 2024. And we absolutely cannot wait.
“Our family has been perfecting our ice cream recipes for generations, and we can’t wait to share our passion for great ice cream with the Grandview community,” said Matt Wilcoxon, president of Johnson’s Real Ice Cream. “We encourage Central Ohio residents to stay tuned as the possibility of another Johnson’s Real Ice Cream shop potentially landing in the Columbus area is on the horizon,” said Wilcoxon.
