Popular local pizzeria opens kitchen in Polaris-area bar

Last year, Shorty’s Pizza & Growl took over the former home of Neighbor’s Deli, converting it into a takeout pizza spot. And now, Shorty’s has teamed up with a Polaris-area bar to bring its pizza to even more locations in the Columbus area.

Shorty’s has rolled out its newest kitchen inside of O’Nelly’s Sports Pub & Grill, which is located at 8939 S Old State Rd., one mile from Polaris Fashion Place.

The addition of the Delaware, Ohio-based pizzeria was set into motion when owner Jason Adams bought O’Nelly’s shortly after St. Patrick’s Day last year. As Adam’s wife had been an employee of Shorty’s, Adams and Shorty’s owners John Cordas and Thom Ibson had become acquainted.

“When we were taking over O’Nelly’s I told John that the kitchen was lacking a bit, and asked him if he wanted to jump in,” Adams said.

The bar’s kitchen is referred to as Shorty’s at the O. And while Shorty’s pies, stromboli’s and many appetizers are featured, many of the O’Nelly’s menu items from previous ownership have remained, including their popular chicken wings.
