A popular Columbus-born spot for tacos and more is coming to the near east side.

According to a press release, Local Cantina will be opening a new location inside the Trolley District development today. The Development includes the East Market and the new Columbus Brewing Co. Beer Hall.

Local Cantina is located at 1644 Oak St., in a building that is part of the Trolley District but separate from the East Market and the Columbus Brewing Co. Beer Hall. True to the development’s name, the location is also sporting a recreated trolley car as a nod to the Columbus history that inspired the development..

“We are beyond excited to join the East Market community and continue to provide our community with more made-fresh-daily tacos ‘n’ more, hand-made craft cocktails and great times,” a press release about the opening reads.

After opening in Columbus in 2012, the eatery has grown its taco-centered menu (which includes more than 20 taco varieties with ingredients that range from pepper jam to Mac and cheese) to 15 locations, including restaurants in Dayton and Cincinnati.
