Popular Columbus restaurant planning reopening under new name after last year’s closure

Sav McKee

The Columbus vegan community was devastated when one of their favorite casual joints, Eden Burger, announced its closure last year following staffing issues and a lawsuit.

However, plant-based eaters can now rejoice that this Columbus staple is reopening, and with the same mission: Saving the world through food that makes you feel good.

According to its Facebook page, the restaurant formerly known as Eden Burger has dropped the word “Eden,” and is currently operating under simply Burger. It’s unclear if this is the name the concept will use permanently. Its Facebook page also lists 1437 N. High St. as the address of the eatery. This was the same location as the previous eatery.

On a Facebook post from June 13th, the restaurant released a statement that it’s looking for passionate individuals to help reopen the restaurant.

The University District vegan restaurant was sued by Michigan-based company Eden Foods last year for a trademark infringement. The eatery closed shortly after this, also citing staffing issues.

An exact opening date of the restaurant and its menu has not yet been released.
