Standout Columbus chef Andrew Smith–a Rockmill Tavern alum who is also behind Roys Ave. Supper Club–and his wife Devoney Smith are pivoting with their anticipated new tasting menu restaurant, Isla.

The eatery, which was originally slated to be located at 360 W. Broad St., is heading to Merion Village.

Isla will now open at 116 E. Molar St. The building, which previously housed the popular Columbus eatery Bake Me Happy, will house several other concepts, including Jennings Java’s first full retail space, Whirlwind Dance Studio and more.

Smith told 614Now earlier this year that Isla originally planned to operate as both a tasting menu-based restaurant and a community hub for cooking classes and more, citing the Hilltop-area community as an important part.

Smith could not be reached for comment before this story was published, so it’s unclear if any of the new eatery’s plans will change due to the move. 614Now will update this story when more information becomes available.
