The best deals in Columbus today for National Cheeseburger Day (including free burgers!)

The first cheeseburger apparently dates back to 1924, when 16 year old Lionel Sternberger added a slice of American cheese to a hamburger at his father’s sandwich shop in Pasadena, California. 

Now, Sternberg’s famous creations are so popular that there’s an entire day dedicated to them. September 18th (today!) is National Cheeseburger Day, and to celebrate, many chain restaurants in Columbus are offering incredible deals – you could even grab some free burgers for tonight’s dinner.

Here’s where to get cheeseburgers on the cheap in Columbus today:

Wendy’s
Deal: Wendy’s Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger for $.01 with any purchase, Sept 18th-22nd.

SmashBurger
Deal: Classic single burgers, turkey burgers, and black bean burgers for $5, Sept 18th-20th.

Applebees
