The founder of this popular Columbus restaurant holds gender reveal for first child with a pizza

Spencer Saylor is the founder and former owner of Wizard of Za, one of the most explosively popular Columbus pizzerias in recent years, so it makes sense that, when he’s part of a gender reveal, a pizza is also involved.

Yesterday, Spencer Saylor and Jayme Saylor posted the results of the gender reveal for their first child. In the post, the two are holding an open pizza box with the word “Boy” spelled out in pepperoni. The box was also decorated with ultrasound images and a baby’s onesie.

“This is our first. I’m beyond excited! I’ve always dreamt of and wanted to be a dad – so this is a dream come true,” he told 614Now.

The pair picked up the gender results in a sealed envelope from their doctor, and had Jayme’s sister deliver them to the pizzeria with preparation instructions.

And now you might be wondering: What pizza shop does the founder of Wizard of Za go for? The answer: Clintonville’s East Coast Pizzeria.

“It’s one of our absolute favorites and somewhere we’ve frequented throughout our relationship. I hate to recommend them publicly, because I think they fly a bit under the radar, but it’s deserved,” he said. “They make one of the best pies around! Can’t thank them enough for helping us announce such special news.”
