A national chain offering “pedal-powered, portable celebration on wheels” is opening in Columbus later this month.

According to owner and OSU alum Joe Kapferer, Trolley Pub plans to open its first franchise in Ohio on May 20. Trolley Pub, which operates nearly 20 locations across the country, is a “party bike” service, where guests can enjoy drinks while pedaling a large multi-person vehicle resembling a trolley.

Trolley Pub Columbus will offer two new vehicles, and will allow guests to bring their own wine or beer (but no hard alcohol), with a sober trolley captain steering the vehicle at all times. Patrons can consume up to to 36 ounces of beer or hard seltzer, or 18 ounces of wine or champagne per person.

According to Kapferer, the concept will offer Columbus residents access to their party bikes with prices that are cheaper than many in the area.

“Trolley Pub is more affordable compared to local competitors.  Mixer tours start at $30/pp and private rides start at $419 and can accommodate up to 15 people each tour,” he said. “We do have a weekly happy hour special on Wednesdays at 5pm/510pm where our tours are only $25/pp & $349 private.”

Trolley Pub Columbus guests can also decide if they want to make stops at local bars during their ride. The concept’s local partners include spots like Elevator Brewing, Oldfields, Parlay Sporting Lounge, The Standard Complex and Duecento.
