The hottest name in boba is getting a Columbus location of its own.

Tiger Sugar, the massively-popular chain for milk tea and boba known for its visually appealing drinks that resemble the stripes of a tiger, will be opening its first Columbus-area storefront, according to a Tiger Sugar representative.

The international boba chain will be located at 878 Bethel Rd., the former home of Spicy Hop. Tiger Sugar told 614Now it aims to open the location in approximately two months.

Tiger Sugar, which launched in Taiwan in 2019, offers brown sugar-based boba that is poured by hand to achieve a unique presentation, where the colored layers of the drinks resemble a tiger’s stripes.

The brand has taken off in the United States as of late. It currently operates locations in more than 25 states, although it currently operates only one other storefront in Ohio, which is located in West Chester Township.
