Upscale restaurant announced temporary closure and possible relocation

Sav McKee

Three years ago, an Australian based, upscale, plant-based restaurant took a chance on opening their first United States location in Grandview. Now, they’re saying goodbye. Only temporarily, hopefully.

Last week, Greenhouse Canteen, located at 1101 W. 5th Ave., announced that they’re exploring the possibility of a relocation, and as a result, they’re temporarily closing their doors.

“During this closure period, our team, together with our Australian franchise venue, will be diligently working on a comprehensive rebrand; refining our menu offerings, updating our schedule designed to better serve our valued guests and preparing for a potential relocation,” their Instagram post reads.

The post continues, “While we continue the discussions with our landlord to hopefully come to a conclusion sooner rather than later, we want to thank you for your patronage and understanding during this time. Rest assured, regardless of the venue, our aim remains the same – to provide you with an exceptional dining experience that exceeds your expectations.”

Greenhouse Canteen specializes in elevated vegan + gluten-free fare, such as Eggplant Moussaka, Jackfruit Enchiladas, Chickpea Fettuccine, plus more plant-based delicacies.
