On Sunday, December 10th at 2am, an individual allegedly shattered the glass at Habanero’s Mexican Grill, breaking into the front doors and the office doors, stealing money and assets, according to Habanero’s Facebook post.

“Not only did this thief steal monetary assets, but also our peace, and placed us in a state of uncertainty,” Habanero’s explained on social media. “We want to warn our loving and supportive community, especially in this holiday season, to please take more precautions and watch out for one another.”

Although this situation is unfortunate, the owners have taken to social media to share that they’ve forgiven the thief already. The owners’ personal Facebook post reads, “ I want you to know that you are forgiven. We are all humans and we all make mistakes. I am not judging you…”

According to Habanero’s, the police department has initiated an investigation and has possible leads, but Habanero’s is asking the public to watch the posted security footage and report to the Hilliard City Police if you have any information regarding the incident.

Habanero’s, located at 3680 Fishinger Blvd. in Hilliard, is still open for business, although their windows are temporarily covered in plywood until their appointment with a glass company.

“We want to thank you for all your love and support. May God bless you and your loved ones and may you have a Merry Christmas. Only the best wishes for you all, from your Habanero’s family.”
