Columbus Police are on the hunt for an alleged bottle-smashing wine thief after an incident that took place at a Columbus grocery store earlier this month.

According to Police, on July 5, officers were called to a grocery store on the 2900 block of Stelzer Road, following a confrontation that took place between an alleged shoplifter and a store employee.

The store employee, who is listed as the victim in the incident, told Police that he approached an alleged female shoplifter who he believed was attempting to steal bottles of wine. The suspect then “became irate,” and smashed two bottles of wine. She also threatened to strike the employee with one of the bottles.
