Halloween in July? Sure, I’m in!

If you’re also already in the spooky spirit, you can take a day trip and step into a world where Halloween reigns, even in the heat of summer. The 8th Annual Haunted Garage Sale and Hearse-in will take place Saturday, July 29th, at Weiss Field in Avon, OH, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Expect over 90 Halloween and horror-themed vendors, artists, and food trucks, along with live music, and of course, an eerie hearse car show that will send shivers down your spine.

This event is hosted by The Cleveland Haunt Club, which is a nonprofit organization of over 3,000 “professional haunters, vendors, Halloween enthusiasts, and horror fans, as well as anybody into the spooky side of life,” says their website.

Despite the group’s inclination towards the sinister, the Cleveland Haunt Club is dedicated to using their platform for good rather than evil. For example, In 2022, they raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospitals through their special events.

Ohio has quite a fervent “haunt” following, especially in Cleveland and Columbus, with entire Facebook groups dedicated to Ohio Haunters. If you’re like us and can’t wait until Halloween, the Ohio Haunter’s Association group (with almost 7,500 followers) is a great resource, serving as a sanctuary for horror enthusiasts to discuss haunted locations, conventions, and all things spooky.  No matter the time of year.
