Local author, 77 years old, fatally stabbed near campus
A longtime Columbus writer was killed in a fatal stabbing incident over the weekend.
According to Columbus Police, officers arrived at the 2000 block of Iuka Avenue just before 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Emily Foster, who was the victim of a stabbing, was declared dead at 4:01 p.m., just as crowds were departing following the Buckeyes home game against Youngstown State.

The longtime Columbus writer published a book about The University District titled The Ohio State University District: A Neighborhood History. The book compiles first hand accounts of residents and more to present a vivid picture of the area through the years.
Foster lived in the University District herself, and served as a grant writer, freelance writer and senior editor at Columbus Monthly, according to her Goodreads.com author biography.
