Local bar for sale after lawsuit and a deadly shooting

Since August 21, 2021, the police have been called over three dozen times to Jack’s Corner Pub at 2480 Summit St.

Since then, a gunfight occurred in March of 2022, killing 23 year-old Nasir Reid, and multiple petitions were filed to force Jack’s doors closed, including two on Change.org.

City Attorney Zachary Klein declared Jack’s Corner Pub “a nuisance,” and Jack’s agreed to close their doors until their September 11th court date.

It appears that Jack’s Corner Pub’s doors are still closed for now in an agreement with the city attorney’s office, and the building also now has a “For Sale” sign posted.

The future of Jack’s Corner Pub lies in the hands of an October hearing involving the lawsuit.
