Franklinton development bringing two-story, 40,000 square foot Pins Mech Co., hotel and more

A second new-age hotel is coming to Franklinton, and a massive new Pins Mechanical Co. is coming with it.

Announced earlier today, a long-awaited second phase to Frankliton’s Peninsula development will bring a new hotel, 24-story residential building, grocery store, a two-story, 40,000 square-foot Pins Mechanic Co. and more.

The grocery store operator has not yet been named. The new Pins Mech Co. will take the place of the concept’s current Downtown location. It’s unclear what will fill that space once the new Pins opens.

The second phase of the Peninsula project will be taken on by Columbus developer Rockbridge, another local development group Daimler, and Indianapolis-based group Flaherty & Collins.

“This incredible second phase of The Peninsula will elevate all of Downtown,” said CEO of Columbus Downtown Development Corp. Greg Davies. “We heard from the community in the recent Downtown Strategic Plan that they wanted greater density, more activity and premier places to live, work and play. The Peninsula Phase II will build on the strong momentum we’re seeing in the market and will be a driver to advancing these concepts.”

Construction will start on the project in late 2024, and will likely be completed in 2027.
