Even though Old Hilliardfest, an event that ran in Hilliard since 1985, announced an abrupt cancellation for 2023 and an uncertain long term future, the local community has come together to create a replacement event.

The new festival, For the Love of Hilliard, will take place on Sept. 9, from 10-2 p.m.throughout Hilliard. The new festival will take place on the same day Old Hilliardfest was scheduled for.

According to Megan Fry, co-owner of Hilliard’s Center Street Market and Crooked Can Brewery, a number of local businesses came together after the nearly 40 year-old event was canceled last month.

The festival plans to create an “all new Hilliard experience” that will feature “family fun, shopping, dining, art, music, football fun and much more.”

For the Love of Hilliard will offer vendor pop-ups, and many businesses will be participating by offering special deals.
