Fun ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day on campus

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, love is in the air. Everywhere you look, couples are holding hands on The Oval, faces blushing as if they’ve just been struck by Cupid. Whether you’re in a relationship, in the talking stage, or happily (or unhappily) single, there are plenty of ways to celebrate the holiday of love on and around the OSU campus. 

Rom-Com Night
Luckily, OUAB (The Ohio Union Activities Board) has your back. Whether you’re taking that special someone or your friends, OUAB will have a Rom-Com Night Screening for free on February 14th from 7 – 9:30 pm. in the U.S. Bank Conference Center. OSU students are the ones choosing the movie via a poll, with more details to come.

Feeling Frisky?
SASHA (Student Advocates for Sexual Health Awareness) is hosting a Not Your High School Sex-Ed Bar Trivia Night at Slammies from 7-9pm. This is the perfect opportunity to grab a few drinks and see where the night takes you! 

Duet with Your Date
After going to Slammies, you could decide to go on a bar crawl to celebrate Valentine’s Day even more. The Library Bar has weekly karaoke every Wednesday which is perfect because that’s the day Valentine’s happens to take place. Whether you want to do a duet with a date or sing your blues away, The Library is perfect for you. Starting at 9pm on the 14th, you are bound to have a blast.

Galentine’s
If you’d rather have a chill night in, this is such a great chance to host a galentine’s party with your friends. Grab some chocolate covered strawberries from local Columbus chocolate shop, Anthony Thomas, and set up a rom-com on your computer. Some fun activities to celebrate galentine’s include cake decorating and crafting cute bracelets for one another. Spending time with your friends will help you feel extra loved this Valentine’s Day. 

Table for Two
In the case that you want to spend the night with your partner, there are plenty of sweet and wholesome ways to celebrate your love near OSU. If you want something on the upside scale of things Forno Kitchen + Bar, has reservations for a Valentine’s Dinner available with a romantic evening in store. For couples interested in something a little more lowkey, Agave & Rye, Sow Plated and Barrio are great spots for a nice dinner or lunch. Be sure to make a reservation early!
