Central Ohio teen makes it to semi-finals of ‘American Ninja Warrior’

Sav McKee

There’s a new ninja in town, and she’s only a junior in high school.

Sydney Yee, A.K.A. “The Sly Ninja,” has been practicing climbing, swinging, and jumping for years now, documenting her journey on her social media.  She practices at Movement Lab in Worthington, which is even owned by former American Ninja Warrior competitors.

The Olentangy Liberty High School teenager made it through American Ninja Warrior try-outs last year, as just a 15-year-old (the minimum age requirement), and the episode aired on Monday night.

The episode showed Yee navigating the difficult course with ease, beating her competitor, and making it to the semi-finals in Vegas! You can watch the latest episode on Peacock.

Yee’s high school is incredibly proud of her. They showed their support on Facebook:
