Columbus Zoo destination introduces rentable, animal-themed scooters, and they’re for adults

Jack McLaughlin

Why cruise around on three wheelers when you can opt for FUR-wheelers? Sorry, we had to.

New to the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium this year is a whole host of animal-themed, electric scooters that be rented for everything from a quick jaunt to see the polar bears to a spirited cruise around Adventure Cove.

The scooters, which can fit two individuals up to a total of 440 pounds, resemble one of multiple zoo animals, including a panda bear, giraffe, black bear, crocodile (or maybe it’s an alligator?) and rhino using ScooterPals brand offerings.

The FUR-Wheelers rental process includes scanning the QR code at the rental location (near the rides in Adventure Cove) and completing a rental form.

Riders must be above the age of 16 and more than 36 inches tall. The new scooters cost a flat rate of $0.35 per minute, plus a $5 activation fee.
