Columbus one of the country’s best cities for naked bike rides
Columbus is a city that wears many hats, but according to a new LawnStarter study, part of the Arch City’s appeal comes from what it’s not always wearing.
The study ranked Columbus as the country’s 16th-best city for naked bike rides. Last year, the same study had Ohio’s Capital City as the 15th-best town for nude biking.
Unusually specific? Yes. Awesome nonetheless? Also yes.

Here where Columbus landed in some of LawnStarters’ metrics for the study:
- Average monthly Google searches for “World Naked Bike Ride” and “Naked Bike Ride” over past 12 months – 22nd
- Number of bike meetups – 18th
- Nudists per 100,000 residents – 116th
- Number of very hot days (April-September) – 187th
Columbus was by far the best city for bare biking in the state, with Cleveland coming in at 279th and Cincinnati at 320th.
The World Naked Bike Ride Columbus typically takes place in late summer (it occured on Aug. 5 last year), although it’s not clear when the ride will take place this year.
