A new, funky cocktail bar from the creators of The Light of Seven Matchsticks is opening soon

The Light of Seven Matchsticks, the beloved, now-closed speakeasy bar under Natalie’s Pizza in Worthington, may have closed in September of 2022, but they’re igniting the flame once again. Well, kind of.

The creators behind this former bar announced that they’re opening a new bar, I Like It Like That, inside of Natalie’s Grandview. The former Matchsticks team was inspired by, “Knowing we wanted to recreate a space that was as special as Matchsticks, where every single piece is intentional with a story…and probably a little insanity,” they joked. The name “I Like It Like That” is inspired by the old New Orleans song by Chris Kenner.

Their new bar will embody an atmosphere “unlike anything we’ve ever done before. Think Rainbow Row meets Matchsticks,” they said. They plan on spinning vinyl for part of their music assortment, as well as featuring a funky jukebox, along with an assortment of hand-crafted cocktails, good wine and beer, and N/A alcoholic options.

As for food, they’re also planning on serving pizza, small plates, and desserts. They’ll even offer espresso options, which they say is due to the fact that they’re, “Missing the Caffe Apropos days, where you could start with coffee and end with booze. And we happen to be neighbors with Royal Flamingo coffee…More on that partnership coming in the very near future.” As for their famous duck fat popcorn? Stay tuned.

I Like It Like That is planning on opening in March, “If Covid, flooding, or other catastrophes stay at bay,” they said. Natalie’s Grandview is located at 945 King Ave.

One thing’s for sure – we’re gonna like it (like that). Follow along their journey on their Instagram.
