According to a Columbus Foodies vote, these are the five best BBQ spots in central Ohio

The Columbus Foodies is a social media group (which boasts 125,000 members on its Facebook page alone) that’s well-known for providing dining recommendations and restaurant openings, and now its users have come together to name the area’s top spots for barbeque.

In a social media post released last week, the group revealed which restaurants took the top five spots in a poll it recently held to name the top barbeque in central Ohio. According to the group’s marketing and content creation specialist Wal Ozello, the poll saw more than 1,500 votes.

Here are the winners:

2. Da Que, 3157 Delmont Rd., Lancaster

3. Ray Ray’s Hog Pit, multiple locations

4. Martiny’s BBQ, 5808 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center

5. SmokeOut BBQ, 1850 Winderly Ln., Pickerington

While this year is the first Columbus Foodies has created a Best Barbeque poll, Ozello said the group has also recently held polls for Best Pizza, Best Burger and Best Donut. They plan to make each poll an annual event.

“Our members LOVE to talk about food and are so passionate about Central Ohio’s food scene,” Ozello said. “We have such amazing and eclectic food offerings here in Central Ohio and we’d put them up against any big city in the country. Nobody has the diversity of flavors and options as us.  So it was great to see so many people share their opinions and we feel honored to give them a platform to have a voice.”
