After filing for bankruptcy, yet another central Ohio Big Lots is closing, making that 3 total

Last week, news broke that a popular Big Lots location in Columbus (1451 5th Ave.) would soon be closing, making that the second central Ohio location, as well as Newark, to close out of the 500 nationwide shut downs.

Now, another high-frequented location is on the chopping block. According to an auction list by A&G Real Estate Partners, the Dublin Big Lots, located at 6569 Sawmill Rd., will be closing as well. There’s no confirmed date when the doors will shutter.

According to Big Lots, 70% of their stores “were not profitable.” Big Lots cited factors, “such as high inflation and interest rates that are beyond its control,” as to why they’re experiencing a loss in revenue. $700 million in just two years, in fact.

“The prevailing economic trends have been particularly challenging to Big Lots, as its core customers curbed their discretionary spending on the home and seasonal product categories that represent a significant portion of the Company’s revenue,” the company said in a press release.
