After just under a year, Uptown Westerville eatery closes

Last year, Cantina Blue Santa took over the historic State Theater building in Westerville, and just under a year later, it appears to have closed, with another eatery preparing to open in the space.

According to a social media posts from a New Mexican concept, Los Altos Mexican Bar and Grill, the restaurant will replace Blue Santa.

The eatery, which is located at 8 N. State St., will hold its grand opening on Sept. 15.

Cantina Blue Santa’s Westerville restaurant opened to the public in late September last year. It took over the nearly 100-year old State Theater building from Barrel & Boar, which announced it would close its Uptown eatery in early August after a six year stint.
