After nearly a decade, central Ohio BBQ spot launches second standalone location

Since 2015, Bob Bennett has been serving up his signature pulled pork, beef brisket and more to central Ohio. And now, after nearly 10 years, his barbeque concept has opened its second standalone restaurant space.

According to a social media post, a new location of Bob’s Backyard Barbeque opened its doors on Feb. 8. The new eatery is located at 80 W. Church St. in Pickerington.

This marks the second opening in just over a year for Bennett, who launched Bob’s Bobcat Bistro inside University of Ohio Lancaster’s Brasee Hall in early 2023. The bistro is a student-friendly riff on Bob’s Backyard Barbeque, offering coffee, breakfast items and salads, in addition to barbeque.

The new Bob’s location offers a similar menu to its original location in Lancaster, with pulled pork, pulled chicken, brisket and less traditional items like Bob’s Mac & Moo, a sandwich combing brisket, Mac and cheese more.
