Annual festival featuring strawberry themed food, dessert, and beer returning next month
It’s almost time for the most exciting part of the year! No, not just summer, silly. Jeni’s Strawberry Buttermilk Ice Cream season, of course.
For the past 7 years, Jeni’s and Land Grant Brewery have collaborated to kickstart summer and strawberry season by throwing a celebration, known as the Strawberry Jam, and this year, it’s going to be bigger than ever.
On May 25 and 26, starting at 11am each day, join the huge party at Land-Grant Brewing Company, located at 424 W. Town St. It’s free to join, but bring your wallet if you want to try out the strawberry delicacies.
You may wonder why there’s an entire two-day festival dedicated to strawberries? Well, to create the flavor of Jeni’s beloved Strawberry Buttermilk Ice Cream and Land-Grant’s Splendid Strawberry Rhubarb Ale, Jeni’s sources thousands of pounds of fresh local strawberries each week.
This year, several community partners will feature hands-on activities and family friendly experiences from 11am-4pm, plus performances, and live music, making this festival significantly larger than their Strawberry Jam festivals in the past.
Tons of vendors, makers, and farmers will all be celebrating with us, too, and even some of the food options will feature an ode to strawberries, like Fox in the Snow’s special Strawberry Shortcake.
