Beloved 50-year-old local pizza & ice cream shop closing this month
A quick trip down S. High St., and you’ll find a quaint pizza & ice cream shop that’s been family owned & operated for the past 50 years.
The “Olde World-style” pizza, hand-dipped ice cream, and hot specialty sandwiches found at Lombardi’s Pizza and Ice Cream, located at 6251 S. High St. in Lockbourne, will only be available until Saturday, November 30.
Lombardi’s posted on their Facebook that it’s time for the owner to retire. “It has been a pleasure to serve you over the last fifty years,” said the Lombardi family’s post. “I have built many found relationships with both ice cream and pizza customers. I will miss you all.”

Hundreds of customers expressed their sadness that the pizza shop is closing, but also sent their congratulations to the owner for retiring. “You all were a major part of my growing up!! Every trip I made with my mom to Columbus, there was always a stop on the way home at Lombardi’s!!! The twist cone was always my fav!!! Happy retirement to you!!!” said one customer. Another customer expressed, “I love this place! I’m so happy for you and sad to lose another place full of lifelong memories! Thank you for the last 50 years!”
You have until November 30th to grab your last pizza and banana split combo!
