Popular coffee shop returns to original location after closing 4 years ago

Sav McKee

We lost a lot of good ones during the pandemic. One in particular comes to mind – a cozy coffee shop, with the quintessential “hipster” garage doors that open in the warmer months, and some of the friendliest baristas in town.

Yup, I’m talking about Mission Coffee Co., which closed their Short North shop back in April of 2020 during the COVID shutdowns. While they initially planned to reopen the space at 11 Price Ave., they inevitably made the tough decision to permanently close up shop.

Four years later, Mission Coffee just announced that they’re returning to that exact location!

“Sometimes there’s things you think can’t happen. And then they just happen anyways,” Mission Coffee said in a social media post.

They continued, “We were cleared to reopen this morning at 9am and we can’t wait. So we aren’t going to! Monday morning, we’ll have at least a limited menu ready for you.”

They’ll be open in their old/new space from 7am-2pm all week, serving incredible espresso, classic cappuccinos, cold brews, and even their famous draft lattes.

Mission Coffee Co. also opened a space at 2060 S. High St. last year, and they’re planning on keeping it up & running.

Congrats, Mission Coffee Co.!
