Columbus-area neighborhood hosting long-standing pizza crawl, will name area’s best pies
While this time of year is typically associated with the scents of blossoming flowers or the soil after a spring shower, we’re also catching a hint of pizza on the wind. And we’re not mad about it.
The Fifth by Northwest Pizza Crawl, which has been held in the Grandview-adjacent neighborhood of Fifth by Northwest for over a decade now, will return in 2024.
The event will take place on May 9. According to Alex Volakis, a Pizza Crawl organizer and Fifth by Northwest Area Commissioner, Dewey’s Pizza, Rotolo’s Pizza, Halwani’s Pizza & Stromboli, MA Grill and Jet’s Pizza are slated to participate, although more may still join.

Last year’s event featured nearly 500 participants who traveled to each pizzeria, trying a slice of cheese for $1 each. Slices will be offered for just $1 this year as well. After trying each spot, Pizza Crawl participants will vote for their favorite.
Rotolo’s Pizza was last year’s winner.
“Since we brought back the crawl post Covid we have been ecstatic about the neighborhood’s event participation,” Volakis said. “It honors our rich history with this long standing event and love seeing everyone enjoying the neighborhood just as spring is in full swing, and not to mention what is probably the best pizza deal in the country for two hours.”
