Columbus boasts one of the country’s best beer scenes, according to new ‘USA Today’ poll

Just days after two Columbus chefs were tapped as James Beard Award semifinalists, the city’s craft beer scene is also getting some love on a national stage.

Columbus was recently included as one of the USA Today 10 Best Readers’ Choice nominees for Best Beer Cities. Nominees are chosen by a panel of experts, but are voted on by readers once finalists are named.

This year, 20 cities were nominated for the distinction. With beer giants like Asheville, Austin and Denver on the list, it would be easy to assume the Arch City might be hanging on near the bottom of the top 20, but that’s not the case. At the time this story was published, Columbus was listed as the country’s 9th best beer city, which is determined by reader votes.
