Columbus chef wins ‘Chopped’ episode

Earlier this month, 614now covered chef Alexia Orsburn’s journey to the Chopped Kitchen, and now, she’s a Chopped champion.

According to a post from Littleton’s Market, the recently-opened speciality grocery store in Upper Arlington grocery store and eatery where Orsburn serves as head chef, the Columbus culinary pro came out on top of her episode.

“Congratulations to @chef_alexia on being the Chopped Champion! We are so happy for you, and honored to have you on our team as Executive Chef,” a post from Littleton Market’s Instagram account reads.

The Chopped episode, which was titled “Claws Out,” premiered on Jan. 30. The show–which requires contestants to highlight a specific ingredient each round–showcased crab meat in the first round, a “strange dip” in the entree round and mocktails and fruit balls in the dessert round.

“Not only was being selected for Chopped a professional accolade, but it was also a deeply personal and transformative experience. I loved the opportunity to push boundaries, embrace the unexpected and compete against other very talented chefs. It was a great opportunity to learn, grow and share my culinary journey with a global audience,” Orsburn told 614Now earlier this month. “The responsibility that comes with being selected is a source of pride, it encourages me to push the limits to deliver my best performance and contribute to the rich history of culinary creativity that is the show.”
