While Budd Dairy Food Hall is preparing to announce a new permanent chef partner to replace the recently-departed Alphabet Kitchen, the popular Italian Village spot gave us something to chew on while we wait.

In an unexpected announcement last week, the Mediterranean food truck Zaki Mediterranean Grill was introduced as the newest Budd Dairy vendor.

“Surprise! Not only are we introducing a new permanent chef partner, our rotating Hatch stall has a new team moving in,” a statement posted to Budd Dairy’s social media pages reads.

Zaki will open its doors on Feb. 20, and according to a Budd Dairy representative, will remain until the end of June, 2024. The Hatch kitchen is intended as a rotating space in the food hall.

Currently a food truck, Zaki offers a variety of Mediterranean options, including gyros, shawarma and even Zaki Fries, which are topped with garlic sauce, banana peppers and fry cheese.
