Highly anticipated diner from former Tee Jaye’s employee opening this month

Sav McKee

You may know Jenny Dials from her 17 years serving at Tee Jaye’s Country Place, or maybe the three years she spent always making sure everyone’s mugs were full of coffee at Beechwold Diner. But now, Jenny is making a name for herself when it comes to the food and drink industry.

Literally. She’s opening her own diner, and simply naming it “Jenny’s Diner.”

After it was announced last February that Jenny was opening her own diner, Columbus has been patiently waiting for almost a year due to some unforeseen delays in contract work. We have some great news for breakfast aficionados though – Jenny said that she’ll be opening the highly anticipated diner hopefully on February 12, 2024 or sometime that week.

Jenny, who is the sole owner, is opening the diner with help from friend and longtime co-worker Crystal Peplau. The diner will serve traditional diner fare (think biscuits and gravy, pancakes, as well as pork chops and Ruebens), plus a variety of specialty dishes made from scratch as a nod to her Mexican heritage, such as tamales, huevos rancheros and chilaquiles only on the weekends. You’ll also be able to enjoy coffee, milkshakes, and classic, Mexican bottled Coca-Cola.

“I want everyone to know it’s been a long year, but we’re so excited to open. Clintonville has been my home, my area, for 20 years, and I can’t wait to have some of my old customers in,” Dials emphasized.

Jenny’s Diner will be located at 4768 N. High St. and will be open 6am-2pm, Monday through Saturday, and 7am-2pm on Sundays.

We’ll see you there!
