Ice cream floats and speciality soda shop opening two new locations

Strawser’s Ice Cream, Candy & Pop Shop is expanding with a pair of new stores.

According to Mike Strawser, who also owns and operates the What the Float food truck and Strawser’s Grove City location (which serves ice cream floats and a huge variety of specialty sodas), the concept plans to open a Circleville storefront and one in Ashville, Ohio next month.

According to Strawser, he’s aiming to open the Circleville store on July 1–or sooner–in order to capitalize on the summer demand for ice cream. The Ashville location will likely open between mid-July and early August.

“We’ve decided that now is a great time for us to expand. We found what we think are two prime locations,” he told 614Now. “The one in Circleville is right where they weigh the pumpkins during the pumpkin show so we think that right in downtown Circleville will give us a great opportunity to serve a community that I have a history with. I was the manager of that Chase back for four years.”

The Circleville store will be located at 109 N. Court St. in Circleville, and plans to offer a special pumpkin-themed dessert, in honor of the city’s longstanding pumpkin show.

“We have amazing pumpkin pie ice cream that we put a giant scoop of between two pumpkin snickerdoodle cookies one of our local partners makes for us (Samantha’s Doughy Delights), and we call it our Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream Sammich.”

The concept’s Asheville shop will be located at 11365 St. Rt. 104 in Ashville.
