Iconic central Ohio food truck opening first-ever standalone restaurant

With a lot of hard work and determination, anything is possible. Or, should we say, pitable.

At least, that’s the case with the popular food truck concept, Pitabilities, who’s been traveling around central Ohio for the past 13 years, serving up casual yet delicious Mediterranean food, based on old family recipes from Macedonia.

With three total food trucks, plus a booth at Crooked Can Brewery, Pitabilities is now taking the next step and opening their first-ever standalone restaurant in Grove City, located at 2167 Stringtown Road.

“It was one of those things we’ve been looking at for a few years now. We’ve thought about it and thought about it…it was one of those things that when I first saw it on the market, I knew it was the one. It almost felt like it fell in my hands in a nice way,” explained Joe Pashovich, who took ownership about 2.5 years ago from his father, who started the concept in 2011.  Pashovich said they’re projected to open the restaurant in late August or early September.

The menu at the new restaurant won’t change too much from what would be available at their food trucks, but Pasovich is definitely looking forward to incorporating some of his grandma’s recipes. His grandparents moved to the United States from Macedonia when they were teenagers. Guests can expect gyros, shawarmas, falafel dishes, fresh veggies wrapped in pita, feta fries, and other Mediterranean-inspired dishes.

The new location will offer indoor seating and even a drive-up window for pick-up orders.

“It’s always been my dream to have a Pitabilities store about Columbus, along with food trucks complimenting the stores. I really just feel like now is the time to capitalize on the brand,” Pashovich emphasized.

Congrats, Pitabilities!
