Local butcher shop opens anticipated second location today

A popular East Side butchery has officially joined the Downtown crew.

Macelleria East Side Butchery opened their second location today, October 10. Their original Bexley location is known for high-quality meat in a plethora of cuts, and now, they’re bringing over 50 cuts of locally sourced and sustainably raised products to the North Market, located at 59 Spruce St.

Owner Philip Clary, a seasoned butcher with an impressive culinary background, is partnering with Ian Holmes, the owner of COLO Seafood & Oyster Bar and COLO Burger Bar, aiming to elevate the meat selection at Downtown’s North Market with some of the freshest cuts possible. 

“I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a vendor at North Market Downtown, a Columbus institution for 148 years!!!” said Macelleria’s owner, Phillip Clary.

Initially, hours of operation for Macelleria will be Tuesday – Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., with plans to expand hours in the coming months.
