Effective July 1, a local, viral Columbus concept known for leading the “build-your-own-taco” trend is gaining a new CEO. And not just any CEO – but someone who’s been leading world-famous brands such as McDonalds, Portillo’s, and Starbucks for decades.

Derrick Pratt, who currently serves as Portillo’s COO, will soon be the new CEO of Condado Tacos. Prior, he served as regional vice president of operations at Starbucks, and from 1986-2008, he served in various vice president-level positions at McDonald’s and was also a franchise owner/operator.

During his roles at various restaurants, he’s helped implement technology initiatives that have increased net promoter and guest satisfaction scores.
