Mother-son cheesesteak duo comes to Columbus

A Heath-born cheesesteak spot has come to the Near East Side of Columbus.

On Aug. 16, Jamie’s Cheesesteaks opened as a pop-up inside of the East Market, which is located at 212 Kelton Ave.

According to East Market director of leasing and operations Aubrey Stevens, Jamie’s will operate as a vendor in the Market through the end of October.

Owned by a mother-son duo, Jamie’s aims to bring “that famous Philly taste to Licking County,” although they can add Franklin County now. The concept serves a variety of cheesesteaks (including unique options like Whiskey Bacon and Sake Teriyaki) in addition to cheesy and loaded tots.

“We are looking forward to having this mother son duo cooking their family recipes in the pop-up,” Stevens said.

Jamie’s Cheesesteaks previously ran a storefront inside the food court of Indian Mound Mall, which is located at 771 S. 30th St. in Heath. It originally opened in late 2022.
