New Chinese BBQ spot featuring customizable skewers, retro decor, opens in former sandwich shop
A sizzling addition to the vibrant SoHud neighborhood, Zhu Shi Fu BBQ has brought a tantalizing taste of skewer-centric dining to 2515 Summit St. (the former home of Punk Pigs) Specializing in skewers and a variety of other delectable dishes, this evening hotspot is quickly making a name for itself.
“We chose to open in this area because it’s so close to OSU’s campus, where there are many international students from China. It gives us the opportunity to provide street food that they would normally get back home and can’t get elsewhere,” shared Bao Zhu, Owner, with 614Now.
Upon entering Zhu Shi Fu BBQ, guests are transported to a nostalgic Chinese setting, complemented by retro decor. The menu, available in both English and Chinese, enhances the authentic dining experience. But beyond the ambiance lies a culinary journey.

“My personal favorite from our menu is the lamb skewer. It’s special because the type of skewer we use is rare to find in the USA, and lamb is quintessential to traditional Chinese BBQ—it captures the essence of authentic flavors that we aim to bring here,” Zhu added.
Zhu Shi Fu BBQ’s menu revolves around their signature skewers, featuring highlights like the owner’s favorite lamb skewer, flavorful fish tofu, and the mouthwatering enoki mushrooms with garlic sauce, all expertly prepared in foil.
Adding to the excitement, guests can customize their skewers by selecting their preferred spice level, turning each visit into a uniquely flavorful experience.
Whether you’re in the mood for a late-night snack or a leisurely dinner, Zhu Shi Fu BBQ welcomes guests from 5:00 p.m. to midnight, with the kitchen closing at 11:00 p.m.
