New York-inspired eatery featuring cheesesteaks, chopped cheese opens on High Street
A new concept is bringing a taste of the East Coast to the Midwest.
High Eats, an eatery inspired by the bustling street food scene of New York City, opened its doors to the public on Monday.
The new restaurant is located inside of High Street Kitchens, a collection of commercial ghost kitchens located at 2864 N. High St., in Clintonville.

Long lines greeted the Big Apple-inspired eatery’s grand opening, which handed out free food to the first 200 customers.
Operated by four brothers—Gul, Waris, Hasib and Ihsan—the owners of High Eats are natives of Queens who relocated to Columbus in 2016.
“We were inspired to introduce the culture of New York street food to the heart of Columbus. We always dreamt of giving back to our community, and what better way to bring unity, than to give them a taste of our city through our food,” the brothers told 614Now in a joint statement.
High Eats features an expansive menu that is also Halal. Customers can opt for East Coast hero sandwiches, including a Philly Cheesesteak and the iconic Chopped Cheese, made from ground beef, cheese and other toppings, cooked together on a flat top grill and served on a hero roll.
The new Clintonville spot also offers gyro bowls, seafood, fries, wings, burgers, salads and desserts, including several varieties of New York cheesecake.
