New York-style pizzeria holds grand opening

Jack McLaughlin

A new concept serving New York-style pizza and more has officially opened its doors.

Di Roma Italian Kitchen, which is located at 816 Bethel Rd. In Olentangy Square, held its grand opening on Dec. 26.

As its name suggests, Di Roma specializes in pizza, but it isn’t the thin, square cut Columbus-style pies more typically found here in central Ohio.

According to owner Mentor Rama, an Albanian native who came to the US in 1988 and now boasts more than 35 years of restaurant experience, the new eatery is serving New York-style pizza.

“We chose New York-style pizza because this is a family-owned secret recipe, shared amongst our relatives and passed on to us from family members in Dayton, Ohio,” Rama told 614Now:

More than just pizza, however, the new Bethel Road eatery also serves salads, sandwiches, wings, calzones, Stromboli, pasta dinners, baked pasta and more.

According to owner, everything on the eateries menu—including its pizza and dough—is made from scratch.

Di Roma Pizza is open 4-9 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 12-9 p.m. Sunday.
