Ohio’s first cannabis-infused coffee shop has opened

Jack McLaughlin

While most of us associate too much coffee with feelings of anxiety and overstimulation, the same might not be true for the drinks served at one new Dayton cafe.

Teapot Cafe Lounge, the state’s first coffee shop offering cannabis-infused drinks, opened for business earlier this year.

Ohio’s only “infused coffee shop” is located at 146 E. 3rd St. in Dayton.

While smoking isn’t allowed inside, the concept lets customers pick a drink and add cannabis extract to it, after selecting the strain of cannabis and dosage they prefer. Drinks are prepared and served by “cannabaristas.”

The store also offers cannabis-themed baked goods (like weed leaf cookies), and drinks with other alternative herbal infusions, such as hibiscus flower petals, spearmint and red clover. Entertainment like live music, speed dating and more happens regularly as well.

Teapot Cafe Lounge is open 8-12 a.m., Monday-Saturday. The cafe is closed Sunday.
