Popular Clintonville eatery joins Guy Fieri on ‘Diners, Drive-ins & Dives’

When most of us think of Katalina’s Cafe, it’s likely that Pancake Balls come to mind. Now, however, we may also associate the popular spot with Guy Fieri’s hit Food Network series.

On Aug. 16, Katalina’s was featured on “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives,” and it won’t be the only one to make an appearance on the show soon, either.

The filming for the episode likely occurred in late May when Fieri was in Columbus for the grand opening of Guy Fieri’s Trattoria. There was speculation that Katalina’s was the subject of the show after they announced on May 31 that its Clintonville restaurant was temporarily closed for filming.

“I was thrilled for Katalina’s and my amazing team, but also for Columbus. The city has always embraced us so it’s exciting to get recognition that they were on to something,” Katalina’s owner Katalina Day told 614Now.

Season 40, episode 2, which included Katalina’s also stopped in Boston and San Luis Obispo.

Katalina’s Clintonville restaurant (which is technically called Katalina’s, Too)  is located at 3481 N. High St., while its original location in Harrison West is located at 1105 Pennsylvania Ave. The concept has a third eatery slated to open later this year in Bexley.

Additionally, according to a Facebook post, King Gyros Restaurant will be appearing on “Diners, Drive-in and Dives” on Aug. 30.

“What do you think Guy Fiery saw about King Gyros in order to feature it in an episode of Diners, Drive-ins and dives on August 30th? What could it be, tell us,” the post reads.
