NCAA: Former Mich. staffer snuck onto future opponents’ sideline in disguise to steal signs

The allegations against former Wolervines staff member Conor Stalions continue to become more cinematic.

The man at the center of *ichigan’s sign-stealing scandal (a scandal which costed Stalions his job and former head coach Jim Harbaugh a multi-game suspension last season) was recently alleged by the NCAA to have scouted at least one former opponent in a disguise, and while on their own sideline.

For some time, photos of Stalions that appear to show him attending a Central Michigan University (CMU) game (a future Wolverines opponent at the time), decked out in CMU merchandise and sunglasses have made rounds on the internet, but earlier this month, the NCAA, after an investigation, claims to have confirmed this.

After obtaining a draft of an NCAA investigation report, an ESPN story shared some of the details in a report.

“The NCAA gathered evidence that shows Stalions was on the sideline at Michigan State’s season-opener against Central Michigan in 2023. Stalions was wearing a bench pass, Central Michigan coaching gear and a disguise,” the ESPN story reads.

The story goes on to say the NCAA draft stated “Stalions’ conduct seriously undermined or threatened the integrity of the NCAA collegiate model.”

A Netflix documentary about the incident will air on Aug. 27.
