Popular Mexican restaurant closes in busy neighborhood; building now up for lease

For $4,500 a month, you could rent a space that was once a former burrito and bowl restaurant.

Hot Head Mexican Grill and Cantina in Downtown Delaware, which was located at 26 S. Sandusky St., abruptly closed last year after posting on their doors that they lost their lease. The 3,000 square foot building has now been listed to be leased, with the listing saying it’s in a prime location “in a bustling neighborhood.”

The cost to rent the space would be $4,500 each month, but the City of Delaware commented on Facebook that, “Downtown Delaware is a foodie destination with over 2 million people visiting our downtown each year looking for unique food experiences and entertainment. We have a strong downtown employee base, so you won’t just rely on the dinner crowd, as you will have a healthy lunch and breakfast market! The special events (such as First Friday’s) hosted to highlight our downtown businesses will drive visibility and foot traffic as well.”

We’re excited to see which restaurant moves in next!
