Cameron Mitchell Restaurants renaming Short North spot; bringing new eatery to Easton

Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (CMR) announced this morning that its popular concept Del Mar is making a pair of significant moves in central Ohio.

First, the local restaurant group announced that the Short North eatery formerly known as Del Mar SoCal Kitchen will now be named SoCal Kitchen + Bar.

Additionally, CMR stated in a press release that a new Del Mar location–which will use the name Del Mar–will open in Easton Town Center this summer. Citing city permits, 614Now initially noted last fall that it appeared Del Mar was coming to Easton, and now the new eatery is official.

“This name shift between the two culinary concepts just makes sense as both have established their own unique feel and guest fan base,” said David Miller, President and COO of CMR in a press release. “Del Mar in Naples has proven to be an extraordinary and successful restaurant for CMR. Our guests, many of whom often travel to Naples for vacation, love the Mediterranean fare and wanted to see us bring the concept to the Columbus market. When the opportunity arose at Easton, we knew it was the right time and the right location to bring this premier Mediterranean fine-dining experience to central Ohio.”

SoCal Kitchen originally opened (as Del Mar SoCal Kitchen) in 2019, and is located on the first floor of 705 N. High St. The other location of Del Mar, in Naples, Florida, will keep its name.
